Financing of innovation

Summary

fiogf49gjkf0d
This project will collect and analyse data concerning patent litigation in Sweden and compare the collected empirical evidence to available data on patent litigation from four major European jurisdictions. To date no comprehensive statistics exist on Swedish patent cases that would enable a proper assessment of the merits of the argument in favor of creating the Unified Patent Court. We aim to address this lack of empirical evidence by shedding light on patent (infringement and invalidity) litigation within Sweden initiated (filed) in the period 2000-2008. The cases will often have been decided after 2008 and one of the main aims of the study is to measure average duration for patent cases in Sweden. We will compare the evidence collected with the date from the same period in Germany, UK (England and Wales), France and the Netherlands,
